Mikki Shoji biography

 Mikki started her Classical Ballet train when she was 5 years old in JAPAN. ​

She trained Ballet with Noriko Seyama, Hiromi Obuchi, and Jamie Salmon. Contemporary Dance with Azusa Seyama, Hiromi Obuchi, Fabien Prioville, Kojiro Imada. Also Tap with Lynn Schwab and Vanessa Martínez de Baños, Jazz Dance with roberta mathes. She has trained a wide range of styles, including; ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop in Japan and the U.S..

Mikki had worked with Fabien Prioville and had performed "KAMIHIKOUKI" premiered in JAPAN. After, got offer to perform at "Internationals Tanzfestival 2008 Tanztheater 3 wochen mit Pina" and "Bielefeld Tanzfestival 2009" in GERMANY. She also in his piece "3B".

 She graduated in 2013 from Japan Women's College of Physical Education with a B.A. in Dance.

 She has performed in works by Jaqulyn Buglisi, Sekou McMiller, Jennifer Archibald, and Acia Gray, and had performed at "Jubilee Gala" with Tony Waag and the American Tap Dance Foundation at New York City Center and roberta mathes's studio naming gala, had worked with Nadia Joseph as an ASHA Dance company member, and Ashlé Dawson.  

She is currently a company member of DoubleTake Dance, Matthew Westerby CompanyAwaken Dance Theater, and The Orsano Project.

 She has had the opportunity to perform at such notable venues as the Battery Dance Festival, Global Citizen Festival and NRW International Dance Festival "Fest mit Pina"(DE), Bielefeld Tanzfestival(DE).

Mikki performed at NYFW and NYC Trashion Fashion Show. 

 Her teaching credits include Peridance Capezio Center, Joffrey Dance Center, bergenPAC(NJ) and Ballet Noah(JPN). She also assisted Jamie Salmon for THE PULSE convention. And recently she certified Progressing Ballet Techinique and Peak Pilates®︎ Basic Mat.​
